Server/waiter

We are currently seeking a part time Server/ Waiting on Staff.. for Wednesday to Friday work plus weekend shifts as and when cover is needed. During the Summer holidays we can also offer Tuesday work as well. Years of proven prior Experience is high desired

What type of dishes do we serve?

We are a country pub with a focus on freshly made food. All our starters and mains and dessert dishes are made in house. Our menu has a broad range of dishes from entry level value meals to pub classics and a few higher end restaurant inspired dishes.

What will be involved in this job?

You will have several jobs after a period of time:
1) To run food from the kitchen and drinks from the bar to tables

2) To clean and set tables

3) To polish cutlery

4) To take empty plates back to the kitchen and empty glasses back to the bar

5) Taking drink and food orders as well

6) To set up the front of house ready for service

7) To close the front of house ensuring everything is ready for the next day.

What are we looking for?

Someone that has a good work ethic, a "no time to stand and gossip or play on your phone, there is plenty to do" mentality will get you a long way here. Someone that strives for perfection and can spot when something needs doing without being constantly told and can act on their own initiative is a massive advantage to any applicant.

SCHEDULE FOR THIS ROLE

Wednesday to Friday
- 11.45pm to 10pm (to include Tuesdays in the summer holiday weeks) | If asked to cover Weekends the Schedule may be Saturday 12pm-5pm and/or 5pm-10pm & the same on Sunday with the option of finishing earlier on a Sunday.

What are Ye Olde Rock Inn's opening times?

We are open for food 12pm to 8.30pm Wednesday to Saturday & 12pm to 8pm on Sunday. The pub is shut on Monday & Tuesday to give all staff two full days off. Please note we do open on Bank Holiday Mondays and everyone is expected to be available to work on such days. PLEASE NOTE WE DO OPEN 6 DAYS A WEEK DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD

Getting to and from work

You are expected to make your own travel arrangements to and from work and should be able to reliably commute. Ye Olde Rock Inn is situated only 5 minutes by car from the town of Leek, Staffordshire. We offer free on site parking.

Pay to increase as the business grows and in line with other staff.
