**Job description**:
**Introduction**:
Our client, a leading company in communications technology industry, is seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join their team. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in developing strategic supply solutions that optimise quality, cost, and delivery to the customer. This is a permanent position with excellent prospects for professional growth and development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials in line with company guidelines and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
- Work collaboratively and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, demand and supply initiatives, and advise any impact or change on purchasing and production activities.
- Review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and processes.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
- Ensure that procurement procedures are complied with by internal customers and stakeholders and guide colleagues to use ERP/MRP systems for procurement and supply activities.
- Demonstrate KPI management and improvement of supplier delivery performance.
- Manage and develop sources of supply (rationalizing where appropriate), ensuring performance monitoring is undertaken and spend optimization.
- Input data on systems to effectively perform key transactions in procurement and supply.
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing and inventory strategies with stakeholders to ensure effective management of inventory levels.
- Create and coordinate supply chain strategies from a group level.
- Consolidate and leverage spend within the supply chain.
- Stay current and up-to-date on market trends/competitor strategies that may affect the supply or demand of products and materials and advise stakeholders of any impact.
- Support product change requests, review, and communicate the impact on planning and production.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and terms of business with suppliers.
- Assess, manage, report, and mitigate supplier risks (including component obsolescence).
- Comply with the Company Policy on Health & Safety.
- Undertake any other tasks as may reasonably be requested.

**Job Requirements**:

- A level & University Degree desirable.
- Professional or recognised discipline qualification such as CIPS, Institute of Supply Chain, APICS (minimum: Advanced diploma in procurement and supply operations) - desirable.
- Significant experience in Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Self-starter, who demonstrates ownership and can follow problems through to resolution.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and ERP systems (in particular Oracle JD Edwards).
- Organised, methodical, and attentive to detail.
- Willing to take responsibility for and drive improvement activity.
- Team player who has excellent influencing skills.
- Flexible to suit the business needs.
- Balanced and confident team player with a positive effect on team mood.
- Achievement-focused.
