**About the Role**

THG has recently published its 2030 sustainability Strategy - THG x Planet Earth, with the long-term goal of leaving the world better than we found it by utilising our unique capacity for innovation and incorporating sustainability into every decision we make.

THG is seeking to appoint a Chief Sustainability Officer, with responsibility for leading and implementing THG X Planet Earth.

They will report directly to Group Commercial Director and work in conjunction with the CFO, Head of Investor relations, Divisional CEO's and Group People Director to fulfil our strategy agenda and position sustainability at the core of business strategy.

The Chief Sustainability Officer will be responsible for working with the leadership team to implement THG's sustainability vision and strategy, as part of the company's overall business strategy, building the Group's capability to deliver THG x Planet Earth. The role will also be responsible for leading the execution of the strategy by ensuring it has the right people, processes, culture and communication structures in place.

The Chief Sustainability Officer will have responsibility for assessing internal and external sustainability trends to ensure that the THG x Planet Earth remains commercially relevant and that the company continues to have the right priorities in place.

The Chief Sustainability Officer is responsible for ensuring that THG x Planet Earth is a success and that the company can leverage this success to win customers, talent and investment.

They will also be responsible for championing the THG x Planet Earth; make THG x Planet Earth something in which THG and its stakeholder can take pride in; work with the CFO and Group Finance to develop THG x Planet Earth reporting.

**Responsibilities**:
**Analysis & Market Intelligence**
- Make sense of external trends to ensure that the Group understands the sustainability landscape and can define the right priorities
- Stay up to speed on developments across the wider external environment agenda and bring key insight internally
- Keep abreast of, and comply with, changing regulation and governance expectations

**Strategy**
- Work with the leadership team to set and execute THG's sustainability vision and strategy, as part of its business strategy
- Work with CFO and Group Finance to develop sustainability reporting
- Devise forward-looking strategies which meet the evolving needs of clients to deliver a competitive advantage over peers across the ESG agenda
- Enable the organisation to deliver on its ESG commitments, particularly climate change targets, and how this can provide commercial gain

**Implementation**
- Lead the execution of the THG X PLANET EARTH strategy by ensuring THG have the right people, processes, culture and communication structures in place
- Ensure the Group is successful with THG X PLANET EARTH such that THG can leverage that success to win customers, talent and investment
- Inspire the Group to deliver the sustainability strategy and make THG X PLANET EARTH something THG can take pride in

**Reporting & Communications**
- Define KPIs, performance targets and metrics
- Implement and oversee the reporting structures necessary to meet the company's sustainability targets
- Celebrate success and market THG's sustainability story internally and externally to colleagues, investors, customers and when recruiting talent
- Maximise the Group's scoring by external ratings agencies

**Management & Influencing**
- Build the Group's capability to deliver THG x Planet Earth
- Partner with the Executive and Management teams to provide direction and support to ensure the success of the sustainability agenda
- Develop network of sustainability champions in the businesses and put processes in place to share best practice and learnings
