**Senior Buyer - Art & Stationery - Maternity Cover**

Join our friendly & supportive team here at Findel as a Senior Buyer on a fixed term contract basis (9 months). As the lead for Art & Stationery, you will be an expert in buying customer focussed products at the right price to deliver profit through collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll will be a strong negotiator and trader of your category, with experience of managing a team.

Findel is an eCommerce educational resources supplier in the UK and International schools and nurseries marketplace. We own several general and specialist educational brands; Hope, GLS, Davies Sports, Philip Harris, Spa4Schools, A-Z and LDA.

**Your Role**:
Some of the responsibilities of this exciting opportunity include:

- Lead a small team, ensuring high levels of engagement and motivation.
- Review & analyse commercial data, market trends, competitor analysis and supplier information, and use this insight to inform value adding operational and strategic product decisions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the market, customer and competition and demonstrate clarity of ranges vs competition with focus on pricing structure and breadth of range.
- Liaise with our customers, visit schools / colleges and attend customer advisory boards.
- Identify and develop a category range strategy to deliver KPIs and meet customer needs.
- Develop a range plan that articulates how the range will meet financial targets.
- Establish how best to deliver the KPIs’s by taking into account:

- Supply chain, overall costs, pricing, sourcing, efficiency & margin possibilities.
- Areas of potential growth and developing plans to deliver this.
- Ensure that the team works in partnership with all stakeholders including Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, Bids & Tenders, Finance, NPD and QA.
- Actively trade - reacting to opportunities, chasing growth and dealing with products that sell below expectations.
- Maintain & strengthen supplier relationships; conduct supplier negotiations and manage commercial terms (including rebates) to support delivery of KPIs.
- Proactively look for solutions to sourcing requirements, ensuring that Findel’s ethical sourcing standards and policies are met, with all new and existing suppliers.
- Attend relevant trade fairs in the UK and overseas.
- Proactively identify any challenges associated with the critical path delivery and address accordingly.

**About You**:
We are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience in a relevant Buying role
- Strong commerciality and negotiation skills; able to demonstrate delivery of results/KPIs
- Able to lead and motivate a team
- Experience of range analysis/range build
- Experience of contract & rebate management
- Strong customer focus
- Strategic thinking
- Able to analyse information and use insight to make decisions.
- Teamwork & cross functional collaboration
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written, able to influence stakeholders.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills, able to prioritise.
