**This is a Regional HR Advisor role based at our Glasgow (Eurocentral site) with responsibility for our sites in Grangemouth and Kelso.**

**A quick look at the role**

A fantastic opportunity to be part of the Biffa team in delivering a new recycling venture, which is a first for Scotland and the UK. Your initial focus will be to support with the recruitment agenda and the opening of our new facilities, ahead of the contract launch in August 2023.

The **Regional **HR Advisor role** provides customer focused, comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice and support to managers, staff, and employees in line within company policies, procedures and legal requirements. You will be responsible for supporting operational sites across the north of Scotland.

**Your core responsibilities**
- Support the Head of HR and HR Business Partners with the provision of day-to-day Human Resources service to operational managers
- Provide a dedicated HR advisory service, including absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change and the range of employment and employee relations matters
- Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with service areas, colleagues and employee representatives, establishing professional credibility
- Lead on the management of casework, relating to sickness absence. This includes making recommendations, giving advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, case review meetings, and dismissal hearings
- Support the development and maintenance of a performance management culture within the service area by developing managers’ skills and leading on capability-related casework
- Advise managers on recruitment and selection issues, including development of job descriptions, person specifications, the selection processes and participating in selection panels when necessary

**Requirements**:
**Our essential requirements**
- Part-CIPD and working towards full CIPD (or equivalent qualification)
- At least 3 years’ experience of working within a HR function, preferably with some in a Unionised environment
- Experience of providing advice and support on HR policies / procedures including Occupational health case management and disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Confident communicating and influencing at all levels
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Resilient with the ability to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines
