Position Description:
**At a Glance**

**Legrand **has an exciting opportunity for a **Assembler I** to join the **Starline Team** in **Reading, UK**. The Assembler 1 manufactures and assembles a variety of configurations of mechanical and basic electrical assemblies used in electrical distribution systems.

**What Will You Do?**
- Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams
- Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units
- Make electrical connections according to specifications
- Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools.
- Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools.
- Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Measure parts to determine tolerances, using tape measures and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts.- Main Interface: Production, Inventory, Safety, Quality, OPEX

Qualifications:
**Education**: HS Diploma or equivalent

**Experience**: 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.

**Skills/Knowledge/Abilities**:

- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams preferred.
- Ability to read standard tape measure.
- Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
