Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence (HMI) division is a global 8,000 person company that provides technologies that use data from design and engineering, production and metrology to make design and manufacturing smarter. Our Applied Solutions Group prove the value of the technology through the delivery of high-impact engineering projects, with a particular specialism in drive systems; car and commercial electric drive units, aerospace electro-mechanical actuation, aircraft gearboxes and electrified propulsion systems. Applied Solutions Group use our in-house commercial computer-aided-engineering (CAE) software including Adams for multi-body dynamics, Apex, Patran, Nastran for structural finite element analysis, the Cradle suite for computational thermo-fluid dynamics, Actran for acoustics and the Romax suite for gearbox design and have in-house 3D printing capability and laboratory for teardowns, measurement and electronics prototyping. We are looking for an intern with an enthusiasm for gaining experience in this suite of technologies and using them to solve real-world problems.
During the programme you will gain exposure to project work for our clients that include many well-known global engineering corporations. We are actively providing design and consultancy services related to drivetrains in the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, rail and marine industries.
During the internship we will develop a specific project to support our business for you to work on alongside the engineers in our team. This will typically be around the use of the CAE software looking at design options for future vehicles.
The role is for 11 weeks during summer 2023 based in Hexagon MI’s offices in Nottingham, UK. Hours are 37.5 hours a week with early finish on Fridays, with pay of £19,851 pro rata.
