Spire Healthcare Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Scrub Practitioner - General (ODP) to join our team at the renowned Spire Edinburgh Murrayfield Hospital. This is a temporary position with a start date of 26/01/2024 and an end date of 26/01/2024. The shift timings for this role will be from 07:30:00 to 21:00:00.

As a Scrub Practitioner - General (ODP), you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth running of surgical procedures. Your expertise and knowledge will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare the operating room and equipment prior to surgical procedures
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist the surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs and providing the required instruments and supplies
- Ensure the accurate documentation of patient records and other relevant information
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide individualized patient care
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Administer medications and assist with anesthesia if required
- Support the overall functioning of the department and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives

**Requirements**:

- Valid registration as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
- Proven experience working as a Scrub Practitioner in a general surgery setting
- Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
