We have a new vacancy available working on the nursing unit as a dining room assistant. The main responsibilities will be:

- Replenishing the food in the AM/PM shift, this includes cereals, bread, milk etc. Ensure all food is labelled in satellite kitchen, fridge and freezers. Put the sticker date of opening on the containers or packets.
- Check and record the temperature of he fridge, freezer and milk cooler twice a day.
- Prepare the dining room for Residents’ service at each meal time.
- Lay the tables, prepare trays and trolley etc for meals including Coffee and Tea time.
- Lay the catering trolleys ready for breakfast, coffee, lunch, tea and supper
- To liaise with the Care Staff the numbers of Residents eating in the dining room at each meal, and those Residents who may require meals on trays to be taken to their rooms or elsewhere in the Units
- Assist residents in finding an appropriate seat and table at which to eat with the help of the Care Staff.
- Ensure the hot food trolley is switched on half an hour before lunch and dinner. Switched it off as soon as serving of food is completed.
- To deliver prepared food taken from the kitchen by the Kitchen Assistants to the kitchenette, serve meals and drinks to the Residents in a pleasant and friendly manner. Care staff to assist in taking the trays to the Residents.
- Probe and record the protein food for hot holding temperature at breakfast, lunch and dinner before serving. Ensure the probe is calibrated, record the calibration and keep clean with probe wipes.
- Respond politely and professionally to any additional requests.
- After breakfast, collect and wash all water jugs and drinking glasses from the resident’s rooms, fill it with fresh water and return it to the resident’s room
- Collect trays, utensils, crockery from dining rooms, lounges and bedrooms after every meals and snacks.
- Ensure that all dirty cutlery, crockery and utensils are returned to the kitchen for washing up and collected to be stored in appropriate cupboards ready for the next meal.

Shifts will either be 12 hour shifts 7-7 or broken up into 7-1 or 1-7

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
