Morrison Water Services are working in partnership with Thames Water on their Capital Delivery framework, which has a value of circa £250 million up to March 2025. These design and build projects work with above and below ground infrastructure on the waste and clean water networks.

We are recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to champion health, safety and wellbeing across the Thames Valley. As part of the operational teams, you'll be integral to driving a positive culture for safety.

This role will be based in Thames Valley, across the M4 corridor with regional travel across the operational area.

As the SHEQ Advisor you will advise Project Teams throughout the project lifecycle, during planning and delivery stages, carrying out regular site visits and audits.

You’ll be supporting the Site Teams in identifying solutions and options to overcome issues, delivering Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and wellbeing campaigns.

You will provide training and advice, encouraging the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement with Operatives and Supervisors. You will also review risk assessments and method statements, verifying temporary works are implemented safely.

You’ll conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence. Reporting incidents in line with Thames Water and parent company minimum requirements and submit reports within agreed timescales. You’ll also ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and close-out the report in a timely manner.

Assisting in the identification of safety training needs for site based personnel and bring these to the attention of the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Cooperating with the Health and Safety Executive in connection with their site visits.

You'll have the opportunity to suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident prevention, promoting innovation and different ways of working, together with monitoring compliance with electronic management systems.

Do you hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, and an appropriate Construction Skills Card, with Streetworks and utilities experience?

Are you computer literate, with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook?

Do you have a working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice?

Can you maintain records and prepare reports, evaluating safety practices, procedures, programmes, attitudes and awareness? Can you recommend methods of improvement?

Have you got experience of delivering training modules, with a knowledge of various occupational health risk environments?
