Yard Assistant

**We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team at Jewson Heathfield (TN21 0UB) as a full time Yard Assistant**

- Forklift operation
- Sawmill operation

**Hours of Work**: 7:30am-5pm Monday-Friday and every 2nd Saturday 8am-12pm.
- **So, what will you be doing?**_

Our **Yard Assistants **have a strong focus on customer service, order picking and stock management - all outside in the yard, so this role is great for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with our customers and keeping busy. Your role will be essential to keeping our yard running smoothly and our customers happy, which means you’ll be at the heart of our operations.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to process and prepare customer orders by picking them ready for collection or delivery
- Load/unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift to minimise manual handling
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts
- Assist in timber milling using our sawmill (training provided)
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
