Aberdeen Internship - Student Support (Conduct and Addressing GBV)

The Aberdeen Internship Programme has operated successfully since 2011. The initiative offers students the opportunity to contribute to defined projects or activities within the University during the summer vacation, within a supervised and supportive environment which helps develop transferrable skills for future work or study.

Aberdeen Internships will offer students who expect to graduate in **2024** or **2025** the opportunity to contribute to defined projects or activities within the University allowing them to enhance their employability skills.

**Projects will comprise of 36.5 hours per week for a 10-week period, starting on June 5th, 2023, and concluding on August 11th, 2023. (Flexibility regarding start date will be considered on case-by-case basis).**

The University of Aberdeen has pledged to engage with the EmilyTest Charter in August 2023, demonstrating its strong commitment to GBV prevention, intervention, and support. It is one of only seven Scottish Higher Education institutions to have done so. This summer will see the University prepare to “take the Emily Test”; a task which will require specific input from the Emily Drouet internship role.

Secondly, the role will see the successful student working alongside Student Support Services to rollout the new Code of Practice on Student Discipline (non-academic) and contribute towards the review of the Support for Study Policy. There will be an encouragement for the successful student to research good practice across the Higher Education sector in the UK and internationally to ensure the related materials and University web pages are improved or enhanced as necessary.

The role will also look at supporting work in widening participation of students with bespoke needs.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 2, £21,134 per annum.
