Hockey Coach

Sport is an integral part of the School’s vision to be the best non-selective school in England and amongst the finest schools in the world. Academic success will gain young people their first job, or place at university; but it is the character acquired on the games field and in other co-curricular activities which will sustain them through life. With more than 90 teams, the School plays annually over 600 fixtures, across more than 20 sports. Many teams compete at national level.

Gordon’s School has qualified coaching staff which serve the 1st, 2ndand 3rd XI, and play competitive fixtures against the top hockey schools in the south of England. Gordon’s staff include ex-GB and England forward David Mathews and former Pakistan captain Muhammad Irfan. Gordon’s competes in the EHA Tier 1 League and Cup, ISC national competitions and tournaments, and Surrey Schools events, indoor and outdoor. Gordon’s School has several students who represent at county and national level. Over recent years Gordon’s School has been crowned winners of the KCS Invitational Tournament and Lord Wandsworth Super 7s Invitational. At Gordon’s we believe our attitude is as important as our achievements.
