**About the Role**:
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Dermatologist to join Uttlesford Health with their existing Dermatology Service. We are looking for an experienced Dermatologist, who can demonstrate evidence of training and experience in this specialty, with the required competencies for a GPwSI/ER. This post is for a part time role - hours to be discussed at interview, but we are happy to be flexible.
- The post holder will provide care for patients referred via the electronic referral service. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of community Dermatology care.
- Key Responsibilities:

- Provision of clinical care and clinical administration for the management of a Dermatology caseload
- Undertake dermatological procedures as well as autonomous prescribing for patients in a community clinic.
- Management of all Biopsy/Histology results
- Develop and sustain relationships with patients, carers and all members of the interdisciplinary team across care settings and traditional boundaries in order to maintain effective communication and exchange of information.
- Conduct audits of clinical standards and contribute to the clinical management of the service
- Attending MDT meetings
- Joint clinics with Consultant Mentor supervision as per British Association of Dermatologists/GPwER Dermatology guidance.
- In partnership with the patient, agree a treatment plan in accordance with the diagnosis and prognosis of the condition
- Triaging of new Dermatology referrals received by the service
- Make direct referrals to other health professionals when required including effective 2ww management
- Delivering minor surgery procedures
- Appropriately request, interpret and inform patients regarding investigation results such as blood, urine and microbiology tests and act appropriately when anomalies are discovered. This includes potentially life-threatening abnormalities where immediate action should be taken
- Actively participate in all aspects of the clinical governance process.
- Participate and support implementation of national guidance relevant to the service i.e. National Service Frameworks, NICE guidance etc
- Ensure safe handover of care within and outside the organisation as appropriate
- Undertake office-based consultation for scheduled consultations, as agreed with the post holder in accordance with their clinical skills.
- Utilise clinical guidelines and promote evidence-based practice.
- Work directly with other members of the health care team and support integrated patient centred care through appropriate working with wider primary care / social care networks
- Contribute to the organisations quality targets to consistently achieve high standards of safe, evidence-based, cost-effective patient care and service delivery
- Be aware of local Medicines Management and safety protocols and be willing to undertake training in the independent prescribing of medicines should legislation allow
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for patients, colleagues and carers
- Fully document all aspects of patient care and complete all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes in accordance with relevant standards
- Work in accordance with internal administrative systems relating to but not limited to the management of clinical data on SystmOne (full training to be provided).

- Primary Medical Qualification (MBBS or equivalent).
- Completion of higher specialist training in Dermatology
- Full GMC registration & license to practice.
- Evidence of completion of a comprehensive broad-based, Dermatology surgical training program
- Clear demonstration of equivalent experience
- Demonstrates ability to fulfil comprehensive general duties at GPwSI/GPwER level. Able to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients and provide an expert clinical opinion on a range of problems
- Demonstrates a clear, logical approach to clinical problems and an appropriate level of clinical knowledge.
- Portfolio of practical clinical experience, including evidence of ability to perform all Dermatology procedures.
- Caring approach to patients.
- Demonstrates clear understanding of quality improvement and clinical governance within the NHS.
- Good personal organisational & prioritisation skills.
