**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: PCU **Receptionist

**Responsible to**: PCU Clinician / Operations Supervisor

**Hours**:Monday - Friday 11:30-22:30, Saturday - Sunday 09:30-22:00

**Location**:Worcestershire A&E, _Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester WR5 1DD_

**Job Purpose**:To work as part of the administrative team to support all administrative work undertaken for the Primary Care services located at Worcester Royal and Alexandra Accident and Emergency departments. The post holder will need to provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others.

**GENERIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

Working within a successful team you will be able to demonstrate that you are able to:

- Provide all aspects of administrative support to staff, Managers, Finance, Directors and clinicians as directed and keep them informed of work in progress
- Maintaining and monitoring the EMIS Clinical Services appointment system.
- Booking appointments for patients streamed to primary care and transfer details from the Patient First system to EMIS.
- Welcoming patients and sign posting patients to the PCU.
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences
- Maintain general office duties
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Provide support in photocopying and filing
- Support GP and ANP Locums as directed
- For patients being referred to speciality teams, the receptionist should provide wayfinding advice to the appropriate assessment area. If assessment areas are unable to accept due to capacity, the patient may wait in the main waiting room, ensuring that the Nurse in Charge or triage nurse is aware.
- To summon security assistance if needed via phone or crash alarm.
- To work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands of the organisation, including ensuring that customers are responded to promptly and professionally
- To attend and participate in team meetings, training courses, and appraisals punctually and well prepared, as appropriate and when required
