An exciting opportunity has arisen for administrator to join the Research, Data Management & Statistical Unit (RDSU), part of Royal Marsden Clinical Trials Unit (RM CTU) which supports the Royal Marsden’s large, varied and innovative portfolio of studies ranging from early to late phase trials, and from simple to complex interventions. The Royal Marsden is a world leader in cancer research, treatment and education. Together with our academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), we are the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and the only National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) specialising in cancer in the UK.
The RM CTU is currently employing a team of 9 statisticians and 6 programmers and due to expansion and following our full accreditation from the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Registered Clinical Trials Units Network now requires an administrator. We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated team member to provide a high standard of administrative support to RDSU and working at all times with a high degree of discretion and initiative, respecting confidentiality of information.
The vacancies are full-time/part-time, funded initially for one years with the possibility of extension, primarily based in Sutton with occasional travel to the Chelsea site.
The post holder will be providing administrative support for the Research, Data Management and Statistics Unit (RDSU). RDSU is the statistics and database programming department of the Royal Marsden Clinical Trials Unit and has an important and vital role in running cancer clinical trials.
The post holder will be responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support to RDSU and working at all times with a high degree of discretion and initiative respecting confidentiality of information.

- To provide administrative support for setting up RDSU meetings
- To assist at meetings by taking and writing up notes/minutes
- To book staff on external meetings, conferences and organise travel as appropriate on the Trust’s Procurement and SBS system.
- To monitor receipt and payment of invoices on the Trust’s Procurement and SBS system.
- To maintain a record of annual leave, sickness and other staff absences on the Trust’s Healthroster System for the RDSU staff.
- To set new users up on the clinical trials eCRF database system (MACRO).
- To assist the Database Programmers and Statisticians in administrative tasks such as database documentation, development procedures and testing.
- Keep record of study costings.
