Sewing Machinist

Our client based in Hoddesdon is recruiting a skilled Sewing Machinist on a 12 week temporary to permanent basis. You will be working as part of their busy team on a production line producing high end leather goods. The hours for this role will be 7.30am
- 4.15 pm Monday - Thursday and 7.30am - 1.30pm Friday. The hourly rate for a Sewing Machine Operator is £11 - £12 per hour, depending on experience.

- Must have significant sewing machine experience
- Be able to stich a variety of fabrics
- Can stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining
- Ideally be able to stitch leather belts & leather handle chapes
- Work to the required high-quality standards
- Work well under pressure
- Keen to learn
- Must be a team player
- Ability to work to deadlines

The key requirements for this role are as follows:

- Using the leather stitching machine: Durkopp Adler
- Need to possess the ability to stitch leather belts.
- Must be able to stitch fine leather products such as logo badges onto lining.
- Need to be able to stitch leather handle chapes.
- Needs to be able to stitch a variety of fabrics for drop in linings.
- Need to possess good knowledge of construction techniques.
