Our highly respected and successful consultancy client is looking for an Operations Director to join their leadership team within the Defence and Security business area. The Defence and Security business area has enjoyed significant growth and is embeddedwithin a wide range of Government programmes supporting both government departments and prime contractors. The service offering is wide, including Safety and Systems Engineering experts as well as Project / Programme management professionals and incorporatingtechnical experts across many engineering domains.
The Operations director role is newly created to take overall responsibility for divisional operations, reporting directly into the managing director. The role is focussed on a holistic approach to the consultancy operations, developing and embedding operationaldata and improvement metrics to fully understand demand and supply and thus enable better business decisions. Leading the resourcing approach, the operations director will enable consistency across all practices thus capitalising on ever growing resource demands.The establishment of a knowledge management capability working alongside the practice directors, will reduce duplication of work across the division.
Additionally, and in time, the postholder will take ownership of the Project Delivery function, work to evolve the commercial function and advocate the quality, safety and security environment to ensure standards across the business.
To be suitable for the role, your background will include extensive experience in a senior operational role within a large Defence and / or security focused consultancy business. You will be used to leading multiple functional areas and be able to demonstrateexperience of brining them together to share purpose through excellent listening and motivating methods. Your background will include the resolution of issues whilst improving operational performance.
