A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Russian speaker to move into a Compliance role at a top 10 UK law firm.
The Compliance team in this firm holds responsibility for all aspects of onboarding new clients, including client due diligence (CDD) and conflict checking for the entire firm. The team also works on global issues for the firm’s international offices. The teamis divided into two key areas: new business intake and AML.
**The role**:

- Carrying out CDD on a full range of clients including individuals, companies and trusts by analysing CDD material provided by clients and advising whether further information is needed to complete the CDD process
- Reviewing risk assessments, both at client inception and when CDD records are updated, to see whether the client presents a higher than usual risk of money laundering
- Using a wide range of databases such as World Check, Companies House, Orbis and Experian to obtain CDD information
- Carrying out research to establish whether there is any adverse press about a prospective client and assessing its relevance
- Performing sanctions screening against the HM Treasury consolidated sanctions list
- Answering queries from clients, partners and fee earners about CDD requirements
- Where appropriate, carrying out conflicts searches using data submitted by partners and other fee earners and then reporting back to the partner/ fee earner on the results of the search
- Ongoing PEP monitoring and sanctions screening for payments using Worldcheck

**About you**:

- The successful Legal Compliance Analyst will possess fluent Russian language skills
- Some prior Compliance experience from an SRA or FSA regulated business
- Previous experience with Elite and AML databases would be an advantage
- A particular interest in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing work
- Good IT skills including proficient use of Excel, Word and Outlook
