**JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PRE-SCHOOL SUPERVISOR (TERM TIME ONLY)**

**Job Title: Pre-school Supervisor**

**Location: Crosspool Community Pre-school, Lydgate Infant School**

**Lydgate Lane, Crosspool, Sheffield, S10 5FQ**

**Responsible to: Pre-school Management Team**

**Responsible for: None**

**Purpose of job**:
**To work as a key worker and as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the Pre-school Manager or deputy to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children in accordance with current legislation.**

**Main duties**:

- **To assist with the planning of the curriculum**
- **To help set up the playroom for the daily programme and help tidy away at the end of the session. To contribute to the maintenance of the Pre-school room, including cleaning, tidying and displays.**
- **To act as a key worker to a group of children liaising closely with parents/carers and ensure each child’s needs are met. To maintain up to date files on key children, tracking development and progress during their time at Pre-school.**
- **To write transition documents as children leave pre-school, attend transition meetings and to attend parents evenings.**
- **To advise the Pre-school Manager of any concerns e.g. regarding children, parents or the safety of equipment.**
- **To keep confidential any information acquired regarding the children, their families, and other members of staff.**
- **To help children learn through play, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation**
- **To attend monthly, evening, staff meetings**
- **To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required**
- **To contribute to the self-evaluation process in Pre-school, for assessing the quality of the provision supplied.**
- **To staff the desk, take the register, supervise the session, complete the daily risk assessment as required and in the absence of the room lead.**
- **To ensure that pre-school policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.**
- **Any other duties as agreed between the postholder, Manager and Management Committee.**

**Salary**: £10.45-£11.50 per hour
