Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an IT Security Analyst to join our team, based at our Headquarters in Knowsley, Liverpool. As an IT Security Analyst at AHK you will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure and will perform several corefunctions for the enterprise. These include the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions as well as the identification, investigation, and resolution of security breaches detected by those systems.

The IT Security Analyst will also be involved with the implementation of new security solutions, the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. Youwill also pioneer End User Cyber Security awareness and training initiatives. You will be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and actively work towards upholding those goals.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Required Knowledge
- Experience of helping to drive an ever-improving security regime, working proactively with other areas of the business for policy, assurance, and risk management.
- Ability to understand a business' unique requirements and adapt your approach to working with the wider team, including IT engineering, IT operations staff, and senior stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of the business impact of information security measures.
- Evidence of maintaining policy, procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Working knowledge of applicable national, international and regulatory information security standards and frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001 or NIST.
- Good understanding and practical experience in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments, and in defining mitigation strategies.
- An understanding of IT and network systems and their vulnerabilities and the ability to work with technical specialists to develop solutions and hardening techniques.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Experience with Carbon Black, Darktrace, Mimecast, Airwatch MDM, and Cisco Umbrella
- Experience using vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, OpenVAS, AppCheck, Tenable)
- Cloud security knowledge (Google Workspace, AWS, Office365, Azure or Google Cloud)
- Broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure technologies.
- Knowledge of encryption standards and mechanisms (PKI, TLS, BitLocker)

Required Qualifications
- A relevant degree

Desirable Qualifications
- One or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security, Associate of (ISC)2

Languages
- Fluency in English is essential
- Spanish and other languages are advantageous
