**Job Title: Grants Writer**
**Location: Home-based/ Office in Belfast /Travelling may be required**
**Salary: Starting £30,000**
**Reports To: The Change Intellectual Property Services**

The Change Innovation Services is looking for an enthusiastic grant writer who wishes to help companies source funding to develop and use new technologies to cut costs, reduce emissions, and improve efficiencies.
You would join a dedicated team that can support you in grant writing, finances, networking, and translation. We are seeking someone with business or project management skills. An interest in energy markets, advanced manufacturing, and/or IT would also be beneficial.
You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as a team player, and a desire to take initiative and manage numerous projects simultaneously, whilst meeting internal and external deadlines.
The role will allow you to develop your understanding of different funding mechanisms, work with companies in a variety of sectors, and provide opportunities for learning and growth.

As part of the role, you will be required to:
- Identify and research prospective funding sources relevant to The Change Innovation Services, and our clientele’s funding requirements.
- Liaise with funding bodies, engage with contact points, and attend information days.
- Track deadline dates, source letters of support, and collect any other material required for submission.
- Familiarise yourself with the submission systems for each funding authority/body.
- Write high-quality, persuasive bids that meet funders’ interests and requirements and write any additional documents in support of funding bids.
- Be able to challenge stakeholder opinions and prioritise the inclusion of information that best fits the funding requirements.
- Review and codify all feedback from evaluators to inform future bids.
- Support co-applicants when making joint submissions. Tasks may include: ensuring they provide all necessary documentation, entering their submission details into the submission system, ensuring their eligibility for the claim, coordinating any reporting/claim activities etc.
**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
**Strategic mindset**: Proven ability to think strategically, identify market opportunities, and provide insights to drive innovation. Understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and business models within the software production sector.
**Software engineering expertise**: Strong knowledge and understanding across business types and stages including venture or private equity-backed companies, high-potential start-ups and corporate sectors is highly desirable.
**Analytical and problem-solving skills**: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset. Proficiency in market research, competitive analysis, financial modelling, and data interpretation.
**Client management**: Demonstrated experience in engaging with clients, managing relationships, and delivering high-quality consulting services. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
**Innovation mindset**: Passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and disruptive solutions. Ability to think creatively and contribute to the development of novel ideas and strategies. You will be taught the basics of innovation funding, Frascati and how to live at the edge of innovation via our induction process.
**Productivity**:Competency with productivity tools e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs etc. Integration of effective time management and productivity frameworks to ensure a consistently high level of output.
