This part-time/job share position requires a high degree of professionalism and integrity and requires the employee to uphold the impeccable standards that we set at Ivor Howatson & Son and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the branch. All our Funeral Operatives are required to hold a **full, clean driving license** and be immaculately turned out at all times, although full uniform will be provided.
- **Duties to include, but not limited to**:_
- Effecting the removal of the deceased from the place of death and bringing them into the care of Ivor Howatson & Son.
- Preparing and fitting coffins, including engraving nameplates.
- Take responsibility for the general running, tidiness and cleanliness of the workshop, mortuary, yard and garage areas, including receiving coffins and other deliveries.
- Preparing the deceased for a burial or cremation, including placing them in coffins and preparing them for viewings.
- Maintaining, washing, cleaning, polishing and driving all vehicles used.
- Take part in the out of hours removals.
- Carry out the functions of a driver/bearer.
- Assisting with the decoration and maintenance of the company’s premises
- Carry out any other duties at the request of the management that are within his/her capabilities.
