Liverpool, United Kingdom University of Liverpool Full time

This post will be funded by the recent significant government investment in mental health research infrastructure via the Mental Health Mission (under full external comms embargoed) in the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) aligned to the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration. M-RIC is a collaboration between The University of Liverpool and Mersey care NHS Foundation Trust (MCFT).

The University of Liverpool is well established as a globally focused institution and has a long international history across research and teaching activity. Mersey care NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest trusts providing physical and mental health services in the Northwest, serving more than 1.4 million people across the region.

The data-sharing required for this innovation programme will be facilitated by the Liverpool City Region Civic Data Cooperative (LCR CDC), which is hosted by The University of Liverpool. The CDC seeks not only to develop a new data resource but a new type of environment with transparent governance that reflects the legal and ethical obligations to enable linkage of civic health data from multiple sources. This will give a bigger picture of health and wellbeing across LCR, while preserving residents¿ privacy and respecting their preferences for data uses. Delivering a successful public engagement strategy on data use is a core component of the CDC¿s work, including supporting other research projects in engagement on data innovation and research.

We are seeking a Public Engagement Research Assistant to support the embedding of the patient and public voice within the research, and to engage the public in the dissemination of the research findings. You will be based within the Institute of Population Health reporting to CDC Public Participation Manager and on a project basis the role will also report directly to the M-RIC Management Team. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team within the University of Liverpool and Mersey care NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is available for until 31st December 2027 with hybrid/flexible working.
