**We are looking for a committed, experienced support worker to enable a young man to access the local community and promote his independence. The young man is 17 years old and is beginning his transition to adulthood. He is keen to promote his own independence and access appropriate activities and services with the community that meet his developing hobbies and interests.

The young adult lives in the Hexham area with his family. He enjoys getting out and about, visiting the cinema, playing crazy golf and an occasional visit to McDonalds. His current interests include dungeons and dragons, you tube videos and gaming.

He has a diagnosis of Autism with a mild learning disability and ADHD. He is an imaginative individual and loves telling stories, engaging in his own world of imagination and involving himself in activities that allow this.
- Have a sense of humour and join in with jokes, puns and having fun
- Be calm and patient with some experience of supporting young adults with similar needs (formal or informal experience)
- Be willing to promote independence including using public transport, accessing new activities
- Understand the changing needs of individuals who have Autism including sensory issues around taste, texture and noise
- Be adaptable to changing needs and interests
- Be willing to promote safety and risk awareness with the young man

**Rate of Pay: £12.00 per hour**

**Hours Breakdown**:

- **6 hours per 4-weeks to be used flexibly on a weekend (not every weekend)**
