We have an opening for a permanent opportunity as a **Treasury Administrator **to work in a varied role and provide high level administrative support to the Treasury Control function. This role is an ideal first entry into a career within Finance/Treasury.

In this position you will provide an important role within the treasury team, supporting the whole business. Treasury assistants help maintain the financial soundness of the group by tracking the income and expenditure. From preparing daily bank statements to administering the treasury management system. You will be assisting with the treasury activities to maintain the liquidity across the group. Report into our Finance Manager for Treasury and Cash control, this is an office based role at our Retail Support Centre in Central Birmingham.

**The Opportunity - Treasury Administrator**
- Process and produce non-purchase ledger cheque requisitions to ensure accounting requirements and authority levels correct. Advise internal group functions of correct procedures and authority levels.
- Process, raise and despatch all non-purchase ledger cheques. Ensure all cheques are correct, duly signed and posted to the general ledger.
- Control the processing of computerised AP cheques and BACS runs. Ensure transactions have been posted to the General Ledger and all cheques are duly signed.
- Maintain an accurate record of all cheques signed, cancelled and spoiled.
- Processing of CHAPS, foreign payments and ordering foreign payments. Liaising with external banks to ensure complete processing.
- Process and post all Trade Receipts, non-trade receipts and rent receipts.
- Investigate bank statement entries to ensure they are properly accounted for in the general ledger.
- Update electronic banking system for new payee details.
- Production of daily Treasury system reports as required.
- Produce Treasury deal confirmations and ensure they are sent to the correct counterparty bank contacts.
- Review incoming Treasury deal confirmations and investigate and resolve queries with third party banks.
- Produce and review the daily ratings check for counterparty banks and report ratings changes to the Treasury Management team
- File bank statements and supporting documentation to facilitate data retrieval and reference.
- Responsible for notifying bank of cheques raised in excess of £50,000.
- Cancelling out of date cheques.
- Maintaining log of inter account movements.
- Ensure accurate recording of all payments and receipts processed.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required from time to time by the Finance Manager - Treasury and Cash Control

**What you’ll need to bring to the Treasury Administrator role**:

- Retail banking experience or cash management experience within a large organisation is preferred
- Knowledge of JDE and Excel is advantageous
- Good maths skills are essential
- High level of attention to detail
- Compliance and control orientated with an enquiring mind - challenge discrepancies and investigate to resolution where appropriate
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with internal and external contact
