We are currently on the search for a experienced Material Planner for our Client based in the Town of Deeside to manage inventories and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules.
Applicants to this role will require experience of working in a busy purchasing/materials department, and will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent qualification.
Role: Material Planner
Pay: £25,000 - £28,000 per year
Hours: 8-hour shifts, with weekend availability
Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Experience required:

- Previous experience in the Engineering/ Fabrication industry required
- Experience of working in a busy purchasing/ materials department
What will you be doing?
- Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
- Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends
- Achieve any stock reduction programmes and maintain agreed stock levels for all raw material inventories
- Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, supplier payments, etc.
- Liaising with various internal departments, suppliers, and distributors
- Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient
- Assigning the material to production rolling
- Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations
- Develop and control stock management and production planning systems
- Planning of incoming raw material and bought in parts from suppliers to meet production plan
- Responsible for supplier contact in relation to order management and forecasting
- Establish supplier KPIs and monitor performance against these measures
- Continual review of stock levels versus business requirements
- Strong focus on process implementation

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred
- Experience of working in a busy purchasing/materials department
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to remain professional and maintain a calm demeanour under pressure
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to deal with all levels of personnel within external supplier organisations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good team player, willing to make a positive contribution towards departmental as well as individual targets
