We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a level 2 dog grooming apprentice. As part of a close team, you will have the opportunity to work with and be guided by the salon manager and stylists to develop skills in dog grooming. You will have access to the latest equipment, techniques and expertise to optimise your experience and develop a professional skill set that will serve you well in building a dog grooming career.

**The Role**

Reporting into the Salon Manager, your responsibilities will be as follows;
- To observe and assist the salon manager in daily tasks, learning and taking the initiative to maintain the highest standards of pet care and customer service.
- You will develop into being responsible for bathing, drying and preparing clients for styling. As well as nail clipping, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and other basic grooming procedures.
- You will deliver the highest standard of customer service, demonstrating the perfect balance of developing a rapport with customers while maintaining professionalism and respect for clients and customers.
- To assist in maintaining salon cleanliness, health and safety compliance and end of day housekeeping.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your grooming skills.

**About You**
- A confident person, with a great passion for animal care and wellbeing.
- A team player, interested in helping to develop the business in its processes.
- Demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the animals, team members and clients.
- An ambitious and dedicated person keen to get stuck in and develop themselves.
- To ideally have experience and understanding of handling dogs, as well as having a empathetic and kind nature towards animals.
- Having a animal care related qualification would be beneficial.

**Desired qualifications**
- GCSE grade 4/C in maths and English or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in dog grooming.

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by us and NEAT (Apprenticeship provider) at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Dog Grooming Apprenticeship Standard.
- The learner will be allocated an assessor who will provide remote teaching and assessing throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship

**Things to consider**
- We reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise.
- The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
- Due to the popularity of these apprenticeships you may not hear from the employer until after the closing date or if unsuccessful.

**Salary**: £5.28 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
