Scunthorpe, United Kingdom North Lincolnshire Council Full time

Do you want to make a difference to people’s everyday lives?

Are you looking for a varied administrative job, no two days being the same?

Are you organised, focussed, and driven?

If you are, then we may be able to offer you the opportunity to work for a modern, forward-thinking organisation whose flexible working arrangements will alter the way you look at your working week.

Based at Home / Church Square House, Scunthorpe, within the Home Assistance Team, you will form part of a dedicated team working to supply and install minor adaptations to people’s homes to enable them to access facilities most people take for granted. The role also supports the team delivering the grants / loans programme within the Council's Home Assistance Policy.

The main focus of the job is to receive and allocate incoming referrals from Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, housing and other agencies. Arrange appointments for the Handyperson service to visit and to install a range of adaptations in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for ordering materials etc for the team.

You must have excellent communication skills especially with regards to liaising with service users, most of whom are elderly and vulnerable.

You will have the ability and confidence to work unsupervised and as part of a team, especially when work crosses over into other areas.

You will be joining an experienced team with high emphasis on customer care and service delivery.

You will be provided with excellent support and continuous professional development to enable you to carry out the role and develop your skills accordingly.
