We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Excellence Champion to join our team at KA Normanton. This is a very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression.
You will have the opportunity to lead improvements and drive operational excellence, working closely with operations and engineering teams to prioritise and deliver a roadmap of continuous improvement initiatives across the KA Organisation. Using your technical, leadership and people skills, you will drive continuous improvement throughout the operational facility.

**Responsibilities**:

Other key responsibilities include:

- Work with the Operations team s to develop and implement lean manufacturing principles to meet both business unit and plant’s needs.
- Support/Coach/Implement Operational Excellence in-line with the plants Op Ex Roadmap..
- Coach leadership (at all levels) within the operational facility focused on delivering business results and building competency in Continuous Improvement methods.
- Provide leadership/mentoring/training to all levels within the operational facility on the use and practice of C.I. methodology and tools (e.g. 5S, visual controls, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc );
- Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste and improve customer satisfaction.
- Facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment.
- Drive effective on-going communications throughout the facility on the implementation of C.I. thinking to help drive culture change and advance C.I. competencies.
- Work with all elements of the business to integrate Op Ex, to include engineering, new product development, supply chain, inventory management, and production control.

**Requirements**:

To be successful in the role you will ideally have:

- An Automotive operational background and with a proven ability as a change agent, with strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills and able to translate functional strategy into workable solutions.
- Strong practical experience within manufacturing or engineering - ideally both.
- Experience within C.I.
- Knowledge of VAVE/Lean/Six Sigma
- Experience in production environment in implementing and reporting and presenting relevant Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques (DoE, DMAIC, root cause analysis etc...)
- Knowledge of project management methodology.
- Experience working with all levels of management.
- Excellent knowledge of MS packages - especially excel.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
