**About Us**:
We are currently recruiting for a driven and diligent Process Technologist to join an established technical team at our Uttoxeter site.

We provide retailer own label biscuits to all the major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidl in addition to the Elkes brand.

Elkes Biscuits has real heritage in both the local area and within the industry. In the early 1900s Samuel Elkes opened a confectionery shop in Uttoxeter and in 1928 a purpose-built biscuit factory was opened on the current site. The bakery is known for the biscuit barrel and is the home of the Malted Milk biscuits along with producing Ginger biscuits, Farley's Rusks, Custard Creams, Chocolate Digestive Bars, Oaties and Digestives.

We operate 24/7 so we’re looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is driven to support the wider team.

**About the Role**:
Reporting into the Technical Manager, The Process Technologist will support both the Technical and Operations Functions with respect to the technology involved in the successful manufacture of products manufactured on site.

The role will also perform new product development activity and trials for both Retail Own Brand & Branded products. The role will work closely with NPD, Operations, Finance, Technical, Planning and Raw Materials to ensure successful transfer of projects from NPD through to launch. Ensuring customer and business policies and procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Working as an integral part of a large, supportive NPD & Technical team, you will drive the successful delivery of NPD/EPD launches.
- Leading factory trials to ensure all business and customer requirements are met.
- Actively supporting the team, ensuring tight management of critical paths on proposed concepts, throughout the trial process up to product launch and post launch review.
- Attending pre-production and product launches to support the factory production team to ensure a smooth handover from concept to launch.
- Ensuring that any existing and new raw materials and packaging are obtained, and the relevant paperwork and procedures are in place in advance of the trial.
- Organising post trial outputs including: BOM’s creation, completion of process specific controls, microbiological & nutritional testing, customer samples, organoleptic and reheat testing.

**About You**:

- Prior experience of working in a Process of NPD, with bakery or biscuit experience being an advantage.
- Ideally qualified to HND or Degree level in Food Science or similar, or with a few years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge process development within food production.
- Strong communication skills, able to work with and influence colleagues at all levels across the business.
- Proactive in approach and resilient, able to manage a busy workload.
- Able to drive and deliver projects.
