Apprentice Groundsperson

**REPORTS TO**: Head Groundsman
**LOCATION**: cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens (NN5 5BG)
**HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT**:Hours as is necessary to complete duties and will include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
**CONTRACT TYPE**:Full time - 35 hours a week plus match days

**ROLE**:
Working as part of the award-winning grounds team, you will learn all aspects of caring for and maintaining the playing and training pitches and wider grounds environment at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens whilst completing your Level 2 Sportsturf Operative Apprenticeship.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To support the grounds team in the delivery of high-quality Grounds maintenance services, in line with Northampton Saints RFC policies, legislation, compliance, training and industry best practice.
- To complete all coursework, on-the-job learning, written tests and practical assessments required to complete the Level 2 Sportsturf Operative Apprenticeship
- To adhere to health & safety requirements for each individual task, ensuring correct usage of PPE, Machinery prestart checks and following detailed instructions outlined in the departments safe systems of work procedures.
- To work with the grounds team to ensure necessary action is taken where inclement weather or other factors are predicted to ensure that all games and training can go ahead.
- To maintain excellent housekeeping across all work areas ensuring they are kept safe, clean, tidy and secure at all times.
- To uphold extremely high standards of customer care and service when dealing with on site visitors and general members of the public.
- To have a flexible approach to working hours and to be always honest and reliable with a willingness to self-evaluate and work towards continuous professional development.
- To undertake any other duties as designated by your line manager to ensure the smooth running of all operational aspects of the business.
