Hourly Lifestyle / Care Assistant for a Disabled Finance Professional

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a 24-year-old finance professional, who is looking for a like-minded person to join their care team. Join their team of PAs who provide their personal care and living support. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in a young adult’s life.

**Start**: ASAP

**Hours**:20 - 36 hours p/w (Flexibility required)

**Rota**:2 or 3 day shifts per week, between Monday & Friday. These shifts are to be either 10 or 12 hour shifts. This will be discussed and agreed at the interview stage.

**Location**:Martin Hussingtree, Worcestershire, WR3

**Pay**:£14 p/h

**Holidays**:5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

“I was born with the condition Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3 a genetic condition which causes weakened muscles. I walked until the Age of 13 but am now permanently in a wheelchair. I am passionate about being independent but recognise I do need assistance in many areas so need PA support to help me maintain this and my quality of life going forward.

I currently live at home and work in the family business and become a financial adviser. I do regard myself as intelligent but can be a bit lazy.

It’s important that you are willing to help me socialise and accompany me to various activities I enjoy participating in which include: the gym, going swimming, singing, 10m Air Rifle shooting, clubs/pubs, concerts, sporting events, on holiday, to the theatre, dinner with friends etc.

I have an assistance dog called Quinta a black lab. She is great and will be with me. You will have to like dogs and be prepared to help look after her with me which includes feeding her and picking up the stuff that comes out the other end Although I have systems in place, and this is all very hygienic

I am an easy-going sociable individual who is easy to get on with. I know this may all sound quite overwhelming, but we will work together, I will help and guide you with how I want things done. If something isn’t working for either of us we can talk through it.”

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- A UK Driving Licence & Own Vehicle (Desirable due to the remote location)
- Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously
- Physical fitness - There will be moving and handling involved
- Patient and caring nature
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Mature and responsible attitude
- Fluent in English
- Clean and tidy appearance

**Training and Development**: Full training in the client's particular needs will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals without previous care experience. You will also have on-call support from our client coordinator team.
