**Workshop Supervisor**
Swan Timber Ltd is a well-established timber merchants based in Crowborough, East Sussex.
We are looking for a workshop supervisor to join our team, due to bereavement earlier in the year.
**Hours of Work**
Monday to Friday 6.30 - 17.00
Swan Timber operates a workshop with various woodworking machines. This role is for a workshop supervisor.
After suitable training you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and Running Woodworking Machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring safe working practises and responsibility for workshop health and safety.
- Training other workers in safe use and operation of machinery.
- Organising daily workshop production.
- Overall condition and tidiness of workshop.
- Working with management to advise any areas of improvement.
- Other general duties around the operating site as required.
Mechanical/Engineering experience is essential.
Counterbalance Forklift experience is useful.
Health and Safety experience useful.
**Opportunity to Earn**
You will be paid a standard hourly rate based on your experience level.
In addition to this basic rate there may be production work available that is paid by Piece Work. The more you assemble/process, the more you earn. This is dependent on availability.
**Tools and Materials Provided**
All materials and tools are provided.
**No Qualifications Required**
No formal qualifications are required, full technical training will be given. Applicants should however have the following attributes:

**Technical Abilities Required**
Over a 9.5 hour shift applicants must be able to:
- Work under the instruction of the site manager, and follow instructions at all times.
- Maintain Woodworking Machinery according to company procedures.
- Stack timber and materials in accordance with manual handling guidance.
- Walk over uneven surfaces and terrains, whilst ensuring tidiness to minimise trip hazards.
- Lift and use an air operated nail gun whilst observing and practising safe working techniques.
- Minimise any manufacturing defects and produce quality products.
- Personally observe and ensure other workers practise all company health and safety policies.
- Use woodworking machinery, whilst observing training and health and safety management policies.
**Contract Type**
Fixed Term Contract (Full time offered after successful initial fixed term), Basic Rate + Piece Work, Paid Weekly.
Pension Scheme, 28 Days including bank holidays.

**Salary**: £29,640.00-£34,580.00 per year
