Recruit 2 You is currently working with an innovative manufacturing company based in South Normanton, Alfreton. Currently, they are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Operations Lead to join their team. As the Production Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production areas.

**Your responsibilities as the new** **Production Operations Lead**:

- **Leadership and Resource Management**:Lead and motivate a team of individuals, ensuring optimal utilisation of manpower and resources.

Organise and schedule the workforce, ensuring the right number of people with the required skills are available at all times.
Monitor safety, quality, and production performance, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- **Production Planning and Communication**:Act as the central point of communication during your shift, effectively directing staff and prioritising tasks based on production schedules.

Communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to the team and actively work with them to improve performance through coaching and problem-solving techniques.
Identify skills gaps, recommend training requirements, and develop plans to enhance the team's capabilities and foster succession planning.
- **Documentation and Compliance**:Ensure timely and accurate completion of production documentation.

Promote and maintain a safe working environment, including the implementation of safe work practices, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing system improvements and standardized practices and procedures.
- **People Management and Development**:Develop and utilise key skills in people management, including performance management and absence management.

Contribute to the development of the organization by actively participating in team meetings, objectives, projects, training, and communication initiatives.

**Required Skills as the new Production Operations Lead**:

- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of the production process and experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong understanding of manpower management systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Problem-solving and process improvement skills, with the ability to address issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Thorough understanding of safety practices and experience in implementing safe systems of work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including providing feedback and keeping team members informed.
- Passion for manufacturing and a commitment to achieving excellence in all tasks.

**Desirable knowledge**:

- Leadership and Management qualification.
- Experience in handling HR issues, including change management.
- Ability to conduct effective employee appraisals and set performance objectives aligned with departmental KPIs.
- Proficient in conducting accident investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Skilled in developing and influencing individual team members, setting personal and team objectives, and promoting personal development.

**About the role**:

- Full-time, permanent position.
- Working on a continental shift pattern (2 days: 7am - 7pm, 2 nights: 7pm - 7am, 4 days off).
- Salary: £42,358 per annum.
