A great opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the business has arisen which, as well as offering the chance to be involved with prestigious high rise new build purpose-built student accommodation (PSBA) and Build to Rent (BTR) developments,offers the post holder the opportunity of progression too.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will supervise and support colleagues in the management of the commercial function of the projects which you’re allocated. This will include practical quantity surveying tasks and activities, actions to support colleaguesand appropriate administrative duties associated with commercial / quantity surveying practices in relation to construction projects. Duties of the role include setting up the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) from the agreed construction budget providing additionalinformation and assurance as required as well as producing a procurement schedule in line with current contract programme. You will manage subcontractor accounts (payments / contract administration / claims & variations / final accounts) including managingthe reporting process correctly, maintaining accuracy working in line with reporting schedules (CVRs / Expenditure / Cash-flow etc.)

The role is based from our Chester office but will include regular travel to Watkin Jones sites UK wide.

You must be able to manage your time effectively to balance competing priorities and be able to communicate effectively in person, in writing and via remote / digital means such as telephone and online meetings. Due to the nature of this role, you’ll needthe ability to act assertively to support a point of view and influence decisions whilst maintaining respect and healthy, positive working relationships.
