**Head of Fundraising**

**Location**:Brentwood, CM15 9BZ
**Salary**:£30,000 plus bonuses, Negotiable, DOE
**Contract**:Full Time, Permanent
**Hours**:40h per week (full-time)

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary was established in 1983 to rescue neglected, abused, and unwanted animals.

We are now home to over 500 residents ranging from farm animals, equine, small animals to reptiles and exotic birds and mammals.

As a registered charity, fundraising is one of the most vital sectors in order to continue the work that the sanctuary does.

**Head of Fundraising - The Role**:
**Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)**:

- Motivating and facilitating supporters to maximize the funds they raise
- Inspiring new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters
- Developing new and creative fundraising activities, working alongside our team
- Developing and coordinating web-based fundraising, online auctions, and merchandise sales etc alongside our marketing person
- Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts and grants whose criteria match the charity’s aims and objectives
- Developing and implementing a strategy for individual and corporate supporter recruitment and development
- Help recruit and setup a volunteer fundraising committee to assist and help you with your important work
- Overseeing corporate fundraising, including employee payroll giving and matched giving from employers
- Managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information
- Making risk-analysis and balancing time-cost ratios to focus efforts on the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success
- Organize street collections and charity boxes
- Keep records of how much you have raised throughout the year, and at each fundraising activity
- Help setup and implement our new legacy drive

**Head of Fundraising - What we need from you**:
**You will need to show**:

- A relevant qualification OR A minimum of two years’ experience within a similar position
- Commitment to the cause of the charity
- The ability to build and maintain relationships
- Creativity, imagination, and an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising
- A proactive attitude, with a drive and enthusiasm to carry out projects
- The ability to influence others with excellent oral and written communication skills
- The capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The ability to meet financial targets
- Good organisation and project management skills
- The ability to motivate others and work as part of a team
- Resilience, particularly when faced with setbacks
- Sensitivity to the needs of volunteers and donors
- A willingness to carry out a range of administrative tasks - you will need to be multi-skilled
