- Job description- Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) plays a huge part in the work that the Environment Agency does; helping to protect against flooding. and minimising the risks caused by any floods that do occur. These roles are key to delivering the Environment Agency's (EA) Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) function.
This role is varied and draws upon a diverse range of transferrable skills. Working closely with other teams from differing technical disciplines across the Environment Agency, you can expect to be involved in any of the following, typically as support rather than leading:

- supporting the teams in their work to assess Flood Risk Permits
- giving flood risk advice and guidance to customers and partner organisations, including community groups and local councils
- responding to flood risk enquiries and providing data to members of the public
- supporting team members in the development of flood risk schemes for our communities
- helping to co-ordinate the teams workload

You will be based in one of the Thames area Partnerships and Strategic Overview (PSO) teams. You will have a designated office base location but can work flexibly from home.

- The team- PSO teams have a range of responsibilities relating to management of flood risk:

- Working with Councils, community groups, other partners to deliver FCRM outcomes
- Assist the organisation’s response to flooding and other environmental incidents
- Experience/skills required- You will be:

- Passionate about the environment and helping to reduce flood risk
- Organised with a proven ability to prioritise workload
- Self motivated
- Relaxed working as part of a team and remotely by yourself

You will ideally have experience of one or more of the following fields, however, on the job training will be provided:

- Town and Country Planning Act 1990;
- Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2016;
- Community Engagement;
- Hydraulic modelling/Geographical Information Systems;
