**A Category Officer is needed to provide procurement related activities within a wide range of spend categories across the organisation to maximise efficiencies from our systems to enable resources to be redirected to the children, young people, and families who we support.** Key responsibilities:

- Assist with all stages of the tender process; from compiling and maintaining documentation for procurement processes through advertisement, to award of contract and ongoing contract management.
- Provide account management, including administration to capture key performance indicators to monitor supplier performance.
- Review and maintain the corporate systems to produce scheduled and ad-hoc compliance management information for the Head of Procurement and other managers and budget holders, showing progress and performance against compliance and spend.
- Retain the central register of main contracts as well as other appropriate databases for key suppliers and main contractors, allowing monitoring over all category performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships and to also attend meetings with stakeholders, including meetings management i.e., room/venue organisation, minuting and agendas etc. all related activities.
- Ensuring that Remedy force requests assigned to you are actioned in a timely manner and all Procurement related calls are answered within the agreed SLA.
- Provide written, verbal and e-correspondence, ensuring prompt, courteous and appropriate responses.
- Management of suppliers that have been assigned in accordance with Supplier Management Procedures to ensure that all risks and service levels are monitored.
- Maintain and support the management information systems to extract, track and present data, ensuring quality, accurate and improved data inputted on the data management systems are correct.
- Increase Corporate Procurement’s profile, influencing change in procurement practice across the organisation and representing Corporate Procurement at cross functional meetings.
- Manage and maintain responsibility for assigned tender projects and ad hoc small-scale sourcing request from business users.
- Identifying cost savings, tendering, and managing complete supplier and product / service life cycles.

- Member of or working towards a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification (CIPS).
- Educated to A-Level standard.

**Experience**:

- Experience across procurement and/or supply chain management within a complex organisation.
- Experience dealing with suppliers across a range of goods and services.
- Experience managing simultaneous projects and adhering to agreed operating and reporting timeframes.
- Working cross functionally, demonstrating collaborative and engagement skills and experience.

Skills/Technical skills:

- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to grasp new procedures quickly.
- High professional standards and interpersonal behaviour.
- Enjoys a challenge and has a drive to take on responsibility.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships.
