Trainee Zoo Keeper

The Trainee Animal Keeper main duties will include:

- Assist in day to day care of animals to include feeding etc
- Daily health checks on animals
- Cleaning and sanitizing of enclosures
- Adhering to H and S policies SSOW and risk assessments
- Dealing with the public with general enquiries
- Possibly doing animal encounters and public talks
- Administering medicine, measuring weights etc under direction of senior staff
- Build and provide enrichment for variety of animals
- General site maintenance and cleaning/tidying

Animal Experience would also be considered instead of qualification.

Hours of work 9-4:30 with half an hour unpaid lunch (Lunch is free at onsite cafe)

4 days per week, to include Saturday, Sunday and 2 weekdays. In busy periods this may increase to 5 days.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
Part-time hours: 28 per week

**Salary**: From £168.35 per week
