**Salary**: £30,000 - £34,320 per annum, depending on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Manager in an excellent provision in Meldreth near Royston.
Set within 14 acres, the site offers a supportive living and learning environment for children and young people aged 6-19 with severe and profound communication difficulties. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support eachof our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence.
**Duties to include**:
As a Catering Manager, you’ll lead our Catering Team in providing delicious, healthy, and nutritious meals for our service users.

The role is very hands on. As well as managing the day-to-day running of the Catering Service, you’ll order, prepare, cook, deliver and possibly at times serve food.
The young people in our care largely have complex dietary requirements. You’ll take the time to understand people’s likes, needs and choices, and alongside our speech and language therapy team and suppliers, lead on developing suitable menus.
As a manager, you’ll ensure the team complies with food hygiene standards, complete the relevant checks and records, and control stock and purchases within an allocated budget.
This role has line management responsibility, in which you’ll ensure that your team is adequately inducted, trained, and supported.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience of managing a reactive catering environment with multiple and complex dietary requirements
- Experience of planning and preparing of menus ensuring balanced meal plans, healthy eating and variety
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation (including COSHH regulations, manual handling, and food hygiene procedures) and requirements in relation to food preparation
- Knowledge of Natasha’s Law
- Experienced in carrying out regular equipment/maintenance checks and appropriate recording of checks done
- Good standards of literacy, numeracy, written and verbal communication
- Possess good working knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning schedules
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks and work flexibly
