As a Youth Mentor, you will be responsible for working with young people who are facing personal, social, and educational challenges. You will provide one-to-one support, advice and guidance to help them develop the skills, confidence and motivation they need to overcome these challenges and reach their potential.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Establish positive relationships with young people, based on trust and mutual respect.
- Provide one-to-one mentoring and support, tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
- Develop and deliver group sessions and activities, designed to build social and emotional skills, self-esteem, and confidence.
- Help young people to identify their goals and aspirations, and develop a plan to achieve them.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, schools, and other agencies, to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with young people, and report progress to line managers.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of wider projects and initiatives, aimed at improving outcomes for young people.

**Key Requirements**:

- A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and other stakeholders.
- Experience of working with young people facing personal, social, and educational challenges.
- Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing young people in the local area.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective one-to-one and group mentoring sessions and activities, based on the individual needs of each young person.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures is preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferable, but not essential.
- A current DBS certificate is preferable, but not essential.
- A minimum of Level 3 Certificate in Mentoring/Level 3 NVQ Certificate Children and Young People.
- A minimum of 12 months experience working with at risk youths.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday

- Manchester, Greater Manchester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
