Tempting Recruitment is delighted to present a compelling opportunity with our respected client - a prominent council. We are currently seeking a dedicated Brokerage Officer to join their dynamic team.

**The Position**:
The duties you will be performing as part of your role:

- Coordinate adherence to Departmental Financial Procedures, Regulations, Debt Recovery Procedures, contractual procedures, Adult Social Care legislation, and the Data Protection Act 1998.
- Source and arrange care packages from various providers, both external and in-house, including complex packages of care.
- Make necessary arrangements for the commencement of care packages, ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure the establishment of relevant signatures and contracts to facilitate effective payment to providers and proper client charging.
- Complete and implement relevant agreements in a timely manner, aligned with contracts, to facilitate effective payment to providers and charging of clients.
- Coordinate the payment of creditor invoices, including payments to residential and domiciliary care providers, ensuring adherence to Best Value Performance Indicators.
- Take responsibility for producing and distributing information pertinent to the brokerage function to internal and external stakeholders.
- Notify the relevant commissioner of any gaps in care provision, providing evidence to support identified gaps.
- Accurately record and ensure timely payment of joint-funded packages in accordance with appropriate panel decisions.
- Address Controcc portal actions promptly and efficiently.
- Oversee and manage enquiries to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate resolution.
- Take responsibility for inputting and updating records manually and electronically across multiple systems, extracting required information.
- Promote and maintain effective communication with other sections within Adult Social Services, the Authority, and external agencies.
- Assist in providing required information to members, other departments, the council’s external auditors, government departments, and other agencies for both internal and external reporting purposes.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including proficiency in English and Maths.
- Administrative/business management qualification at NVQ3 or above, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of computer systems, with demonstrated competency in Office Applications such as MS Word/Excel and other office packages, including spreadsheets.
- Proven experience in confidently communicating with the public, service providers, and various stakeholders on a day-to-day basis.
- Track record of establishing and maintaining diverse administrative and management information systems, including databases and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with Agresso Financial System, LiquidLogic, and Controcc.
- Effective oral and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Capability to thrive under pressure, efficiently organize work, and plan tasks to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure timely compliance with payment and charging deadlines in accordance with council procedures, including fulfilling relevant audit requirements.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently with initiative.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in task execution.
- Understanding of local government finance and functions.
- Knowledge and understanding of adult social care.

**Contract Duration**:4 Months (likely extension)

**Hourly Rate**:£15 per Hour (Umbrella)

**Commencement Date**:November/December 2023

**Work Hours: Hybrid **Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
