We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Head of Maths to join our Senior
Leadership Team. If you are comfortable with working in a fast paced, dynamic and inspirational environment and have the ability to lead and influence the lives of our next generation, we would love to hear from you.

You will work closely with the Assistant Principal responsible for Teaching and Learning and the
Trust Director of Science to raise student outcomes and standards at all key stages and participate in delivering improvement strategies where identified.

Development Plan, and manage a team of Curriculum Leads who will support your vision for the department.

As well as excellent communication skills, you must have high expectations of staff and students.
You will consistently model excellent practice and have student achievement and progress at the forefront of your practice.

**Job Purpose**

**Responsible to**:Deputy Principal

**Level**: L8-L12

**Main Responsibilities**

**Strategy and improvement**

Provide leadership and direction to students, staff, parents/carers and the wider community, promoting excellent, equality and high aspirations.

**Teaching and curriculum excellence**

Develop and review syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, lesson plans, marking practices, assessment and teaching strategies in the department.

Oversee day-to-day management and operation of course provision within the department, including effective deployment of staff and physical resources.

Ensure that the quality of lesson planning, setting of homework, marking of all work are of the highest standard and are consistent with the academy policies.

Lead lesson observations, work scrutiny and moderation.

Work with colleagues including Head of Year, SENCO etc to ensure that individual student plans are tailored to their needs and take positive action on underachievement.

**Leading with impact**

Establish clear expectations and constructive relationships within the department, including team working and mutual support: devolving responsibilities and developing accountability.
