Product Governance Manager

Our client is always evolving their approach to product governance, aiming to ensure that they meet the Financial Conduct Authority's current requirements and upcoming Consumer Duty requirements. These include ensuring that their product governance approachresults in products that:
- Meet the needs of one or more identifiable target markets;
- Are sold to clients in the target markets by appropriate distribution channels; and
- Deliver appropriate client outcomes.
Your role will involve ensuring the effective operation of our client's product governance processes, including how we design, approve, market and manage products throughout the product lifecycle. Your work will typically involve interaction the InvestmentTeam, Investment Operations Team, Finance, Marketing, Distribution, Compliance and Risk teams.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development of new products and reviews of existing products, working together with other teams including the Investment Team, Investment Operations Team, Finance, Marketing, Distribution, Compliance and Risk teams.
- Lead all product governance activities, including implementation of the company product governance policy which covers how the business designs, approves, markets and manages products throughout the product lifecycle.
- Responsible for ensuring that all key teams are aware of the businesses product governance policy and processes, including providing training and support on the requirements.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop product governance Management Information to feed into new product development and product reviews, including identifying and refining metrics to monitor: whether sales are being made to target markets, whetherdistribution strategy remains appropriate, and whether product or services are delivering appropriate customer outcomes.
- Responsible for following the agreed product governance processes, including documenting key activities using the agreed product governance templates.
**Experience and Core Skills**:
- Proven experience in a product management and/or related governance management role, with the ability to be resilient and effectively multi-task under pressure in an environment where team priorities constantly develop.
- Knowledge and experience of meeting the FCA's product governance requirements and ideally conduct risk management experience.
- Knowledge and experience of investment management products, including Discretionary Investment Management and collective investment schemes (investment funds)
- Knowledge and experience of retail distribution of investment products, both in the advised and non-advised space in the UK.
