This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Systemic Family Psychotherapists to join our well-established and experienced Community CAMHS West Team and Community CAMHS North teams. We would be willing to accept trainee Systemic Family Psychotherapists who are nearing completion of the academic studies into the role as a band 7 with a preceptorship working towards the 8a.

The post holder will work alongside colleagues within the MDT to provide evidence-based treatment to the young people and families throughout Nottinghamshire county who present with mental ill health The MDT meet on a twice weekly basis to consider all referrals into the team; discuss assessments and for complex case discussion, of which the post holder will contribute to this and bring their systemic expertise to support the team processes and reflections.

To provide highly specialist systemic psychotherapy service to children and young people referred the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

To ensure direct specialist assessment and therapy for children, young people and families.

Providing family therapy and systemic advice, consultation and clinical supervision for a range of team members.

To undertake clinically relevant research/audit and specific clinical activity or lead roles that support the Team Leads in developing the service.

The post holder will work within the Nottinghamshire Healthcare Community CAMHS West Team as advertised.

The post requires close liaison with a broad range of other disciplines and agencies including health, education, social services, voluntary agencies, and care systems.

A key aspect of this post will be to provide support through supervision and consultation to staff within the team and across other services.

The post holder works autonomously within UKCP registration and Association for Family Therapy (AFT) guidance and the overall framework of the CAMHS MDT service policies and procedures

The post holder will offer specialist assessment and treatment for young people who present with a variety of Mental Health difficulties and disorders. They will provide liaison, consultation and support to other agencies and work closely with our partners in paediatrics and inpatient CAMHS. The post holder will be supported to take on a leadership role to ensure service development and provide leadership cover when required to support the service lead. They will offer support and supervision to more junior colleagues, students, and trainees, in return the post holder will receive systemic supervision from colleagues within the Trust.

CAMHS in Nottinghamshire are developing an exciting Systemic Family Psychotherapy offer with opportunities to develop and access further training, such as systemic supervision. Colleagues within the Trust are offering a ‘live training team opportunity’ for those currently undertaking the MSc in Systemic Family Psychotherapy. Within the Trust we have a reading group for those interested in systemic thinking and practice and now have colleagues who have completed the CYP IAPT SFP training and are contributing to the care of children, young people and their families. The service is involved in developing ‘Family Therapy Training Posts’ and it is hoped that the post holder will be able to contribute to the training programme and help colleagues understand the importance of systemic thinking and practice.
