_**EXPRESS FREIGHT**_

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title: Van Driver**

**Main Purpose of Job: Loading of vehicle & Delivery of Freight**

**Based: Express Freight, 21 Moyraverty West Road Craigavon BT65 5HU**

**Delivery Area: Mainly within Northern Ireland.**

**Main Tasks of Job**:

- Multi drop distribution.
- Delivery of freight on time and in good condition
- Obtaining clear signature - printed - date and time.
- Security of load
- Vehicle checks
- Prevent damage to vehicle / load / other road users
- Ensure that all relevant drivers’ hours’ regulations are adhered to, including use of tachographs and drivers hours regulations.
- Customer Care
- Driver to ensure full debrief to traffic Office Staff at end of shift.
- Work in a professional manner.
- Maintain contact with Traffic Office throughout the shift.

**Holidays: - **29 days per annum.

**Essential Skills / Qualifications and experience**:

- Valid Driving Licence
- Evidence of experience in delivering groupage consignments.
- Good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland.
- Good understanding of both written and spoken English.
- Must be able to provide one reference in relation your driving abilities.

**Desirable skills/ qualifications and experience**:

- Proven experience of multi drop distribution
- Evidence of manual handling training
- Evidence of no serious/frequent accidents and or loss of freight.

**Pension Scheme**:Compliant with current Government legislation.

**Probationary period**: 6 months.

**Uniform**:Supplied after successful completion of 6 month probationary period.

**Hours of Work: -**

**Monday to Friday - 7am to 5.30pm approx.**

These hours will vary and you may be required to work additional hours determined by the needs of the business, 60 mins unpaid break per day.

**Rate of Pay: - £11.50 per hour**
