**OVERVIEW**

We are looking for a philanthropy Coordinator to join our fundraising team. This is a great opportunity for a bright individual who is seeking to develop their fundraising career with a pioneering environmental organisation.

**Location**: Oxford Offices/Hybrid with flexibility to work from home. Must be able to travel on occasion and attend three all staff meetings in Oxford each year

**Hours**: Full time, 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri) _(part time/flexible arrangements would be considered - min 28 hours over 4 days)_

The twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss are the most serious issues of our time. In response to this, Earthwatch Europe, has developed an ambitious and impact-driven new strategy to help tackle these issues. We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to play an integral role in implementing the fundraising strategy which has a challenging target of £2 million across income streams in 2023-4.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Role Purpose**:
**Key Deliverables**
- Carry out research into potential funders, including the production of horizon-scanning reports
- Update existing databases of funders with funding opportunities for Earthwatch’s projects and programmes
- Assist the Senior Philanthropy Manager in writing and preparing proposals for funding
- Write smaller trust and foundation bids independently
- Support major donor fundraising, for example by researching donors and assisting with our events
- Support our individual giving programme including direct debits, marathon fundraising and legacies
- Support contact management processes and best practice by maintaining and updating information on our CRM system
- Help monitor and record the team’s progress against objectives and KPIs
- Provide administrative support to the Philanthropy team
- Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably required within the scope and level of the position and contribute to wider activity and the overall success of the team

**Build relationships internally and externally to maximise the impact and effectiveness of your work.**
- Build strong relationships with other internal departments to understand Earthwatch’s work and articulate it in compelling cases for support and funding reports
- Support the development of a stewardship programme for existing grant-making trusts and their trustees

**Champion the needs of the Philanthropy team and funders.**
- Work with colleagues to ensure teams deliver funder requirements
- Identifying stories and case studies - championing the importance of this

- Essential_
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive ‘can do’ attitude, drive and enthusiasm to carry out tasks to conclusion
- Excellent planning and organisation skills - ability to prioritise, multitask and work well under pressure and to deadlines
- Flexible - able to adapt to changes in organisational priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully work with diverse audiences and build strong relationships
- Research and proofreading skills
- Experience of databases and efficient data entry skills
- Intermediate/advanced IT skills: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Graduate level qualification or equivalent experience
