**About You**

You will have a strong administrative background and will have worked in an environment where you were required to follow complex administrative processes. You’ll be responsible for a team of 14 with 4 direct reports, and you will work collaboratively with our university partners to ensure that academic quality and standards are maintained.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work collaboratively with our University Partners to ensure appropriate quality assurance procedures are followed.
- To lead and manage the Quality and Exam Board teams to ensure that academic standards and the elements of quality assurance are delivered effectively.
- To ensure that policies and procedures are effectively followed and promote excellence and quality enhancement.
- Manage the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators related to academic quality and standards, overseeing the collation of key information for presentation to relevant boards and committees.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of team and departmental objectives on a yearly basis.
- Identify and participate in continuous professional development as appropriate, keeping quality processes and support structures under review and make recommendations to improve effectiveness.
- Provide training and development for KOL staff in relation to the regulations, policies and procedures of partner universities.
- Support the Director of Quality and Compliance in the management and coordination of internal periodic reviews and validation events.
- Support the Director of Quality and Compliance on the planning and preparing for internal and external quality assurance reviews, partner institutional reviews and annual monitoring visits.
- The Head of Quality provides secretarial support to the Academic Board and Senior Management Team Meetings and is also an active member of other committees with responsibility for oversight of academic quality and standards.
- Occasional attendance at meetings and graduation ceremonies with our partner institutions in Liverpool and Colchester.

The post holder will, in addition, carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager. As business requirements change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the employee.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION AND KEY COMPETENCIES**

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or experience of working in the education sector in a similar role
- Previous office administrative experience in a complex environment
- Excellent standard of digital literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, Skype
- Good organisational, prioritising and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with a variety of competing deadlines
- Ability to manage own workload and that of a team through effective prioritization, delegation and good organizational ability.

Desirable Requirements
- Experience of working in UK Higher Education
- Demonstrable understanding of Higher Education programme structures and quality assurance requirements.
- Ability and commitment to show resilience in a challenging and fast-moving work environment.
