Working within the IT Operations Team your main objective will be to ensure that all of the business IT systems are monitored. This will include responsibility for the identification of interface errors and IT batch processing failures, managing these issues through to resolution.

You will be an experienced support person with a sound understanding of retail IT landscapes and a good understanding of retail business processes.

The role will require out of hours shift work, initially covering 6am to 10pm but evolving over time to 24 hour cover.

**Responsibilities**
- Become the main point of contact for all alerts and problems from all areas of IT.
- Act as a clear communications channel to the support teams of issues highlighted.
- Escalation to management all major operations and production issues.
- Liaising with 3rd party vendors and external support.
- Manage batch and interface jobs.
- Input into problem management and change management.
- Undertake system administration tasks as needed.
- Undertake security patching across all IT systems and follow the IT Change Control process.
- Assist with the running of the annual audit reports and escalate compliance concerns.
- To recommend improvements to enhance the delivery and reliability of production systems.
- Improve production operations by identifying any process that can be automated and highlight to management.

**Skills & Experience**
- 2+ years operational experience in a retail environment.
- Good knowledge of typical retail IT landscapes.
- Highly driven, self-motivated & confident to succeed under pressure.
- Excellent reporting & communication skills to IT & Business teams.
- Able to cope with several concurrent tasks.
